Me? Really? Are you sure?

Every other day I tell someone how I believe Broadway is 10 years behind every other industry out there.  And that if we just tried to take some basic lessons from the traditional business world, perhaps we could smooth out some of our rough spots.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people that run the Microsofts and the Apples and even the Dick's Tire Barns in this country.

So today, when that business world recognized me . . . well, you can imagine how honored I felt.

It feels strange to be on this list next to people who work for Google and Travelocity, but, honestly, it also feels pretty cool.

And maybe, just maybe, if we all started running our shows like they run companies like Google and Travelocity, people might actually consider Broadway an actual business.

Thanks to Crains for the recognition.  You've put the pressure on me now!

And a special shout-out to Miriam Souccar, who has the tough job of writing about the business of Broadway, which she does very very well.

Congrats! Terrific video too -- hopeful!

Amazing and well deserved. CONGRATS. You've made it work.

THAT is a great recognition and very well-deserved. Congrats. Again. Wow, that's a word I've said to you multiple times recently.

Congratulations. I've always thought 'Somewhere in Time' would be a wonderful musical, but I got turned down too. Glad someone got the rights. It will be a smash.
