The producer of the Off-Broadway productions of Altar Boyz, The Awesome 80s Prom and My First Time as well as You're Welcome America, 13, Speed the Plow, and Blithe Spirit on Broadway.
Well, of course it recouped. It's like when the Met Opera premiered "The Ghosts of Versailles" some dozen years ago. At it's like "Wicked." It makes its audience thinks it's intelligent because it understands the references. Just like this show. It speaks to a liberal coastal sensibility that congratulates itself and doesn't ask too many questions of its paradigm. Let's wait three and a half years into the present administration and see if there's an audience for a revival of this show. Or, better yet, see how much of a demand there is for it NOW in non-coastal cities.
